LOTE: Japanese
Hi, we are Emma and Alex the Japanese Leaders for 2008. Everybody in
the school from Prep to Grade 6 learns Japanese every week. Japanese is
fun for everyone as they enjoy learning the language and the Japanese
culture, while at the same time participating in fun games and
activities. These games include hiragana jigsaws, hiragana tangrams,
origami and Jan Ken Pon.
Occasionally a visitor from Japan comes to visit us.
We have two teams, Aka (red) and Shiro (white) and each student is placed in a team. Shiro and Aka play games against each other and earn points for their team. At the end of every half-year the Japanese leaders count the points and the winning team is announced at assembly.
In 2007 we had Japanese day. On Japanese day we played lots of games including a sack race, origami, kendama, tamaire, a big ball game and lots more. We also had two Japanese drummers come and perform for us.
