Breakfast Club: 7:15am – 8:45am
After School Program: 3:30pm – 6:00pm
Curriculum Day Care: 7:15am – 6:00pm
Philosophy:
The OSHC Program, as an integral part of Chatham
Primary School, provides a dynamic and supportive environment, which
enriches children and enables them to fulfil their academic, social and
physical potential. We celebrate the efforts and achievements of each
student, and aim to develop confident, critical and creative thinkers
with a life long love of learning.
The OSHC program strives to provide an environment where these values
are reflected in each of the following Quality Areas: Respect for
Children, Staff Interactions And Their Relationships With Children,
Partnerships with Families and Community Links, Programming and
Evaluation, Play and Development, Health Nutrition and Well-being,
Protective Care and Safety and Managing to Support Quality. In 2006 the
Chatham OSHC Program received Accreditation from the National Childcare
Association.
Before children can use the OSHC program, parents must complete a Chatham Primary School OSHC Enrolment Form. The enrolment form gives details of any medical condition that the child may have, emergency contacts and proof of immunisation. It is recommended that all new families complete an enrolment form, as a child cannot attend the program if a form has not been completed.

In winter hot foods may be provided.
Students eat their meals and snacks in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Play and Development
The coordinator provides a program that includes a variety of
experiences suited to the ages and developmental stages of the
students. Activities include sports skills, indoor and outdoor games,
computer, art/craft, drama, video, cooking, music, reading,
construction materials and puzzles. In 2007 an Active After School
Communities Program will again be funded by the Federal Government.
Students attending ASP on nights when the program is running will be
eligible to receive coaching in a variety of sports. In Term 1 2007, it
is most likely to be circus skills and soccer.
Only videos/DVDs which are rated G, may be shown. Those rated PG may
not be shown without first obtaining permission from the
parents/carers. Programs reflect students' interests, input, special
needs and abilities. Parents through surveys, the suggestion box,
informal discussions and at committee meetings are able to help
evaluate the programs offered. Modifications to the program are
incorporated in line with issues raised by evaluation. Activities for
the day are listed on the whiteboard in the entrance.
